Storm eliminate Etobicoke from Provincials

The Storm got their edge back just in time to start their best of 3 series with Etobicoke that begins this Wednesday. In today's playdown game the Storm used their speed to knock the Dolphins out of the Provincial Championships. Although there was some rust evident after a two-week lay off, the Storm got back to their game of speed and puck control.

Despite an edge in play, the game remained scoreless going into the secnd period. The Storm struck early in the second on a powerplay goal by Gabby that she fired over the pads of the Dolphin goalie. Later in the period Jackie scored on a breakaway with a move that could onto YouTube with some of the Alex Ovechkin highlights. The score remained 2-0 until Etobicoke finally scored with just over 2 minutes remaining in the game on shot just under the crossbar that Asia had no chance on. Mari scored the final goal on an empty net just as the clock ran out.

The other League series starts today with Mississauga hosting Scarborough.
