Gary Roberts retires

At the age of 42, Gary Roberts has decided to hang up his skates. Actually, he really had no choice. Tampa Bay put him on waivers and he cleared through the league so he has no where to play.

It's remarkable that he hung around so long considering his long history of injuries. In fact, he already retired once about 10 years ago as a result of a neck injury.

Still it's sad the way he had to leave. But Gary never did know when it was time to walk away from the game. He still has the passion although as far as I'm concerned his body had failed him long ago. Although he did manage a 20-goal season at the age of 40. A true warrior who always gave it his best.
