Lorne "Gump" Worsley: 1929 - 2007

Hall of Fame goalie Gump Worsley passed away on Saturday. He played 21 years in the NHL and finally retired because the NHL schedule required too much air travel and he had a life-long fear of flying (Coach Bruce can relate to that). Worsley led the Montreal Canadiens to 4 Stanley Cups and didn't wear a mask until his final season. He also won the Calder Trophy and the Vezina twice.

He picked up the nickname "Gump" as a child because his hair stuck up like Andy Gump, a comic-strip character at the time.
