Coyotes draw flies (and that's about it)

Coach Wayne Gretzky wasn’t at the Phoenix Coyotes preseason opener in Glendale Tuesday, and neither were many hockey fans.

About 1,000 people were at the 17,800-seat Arena for the Coyotes preseason 4-2 win over the Los Angeles Kings, according to stadium personnel and others. As a result some seating sections and some food stands were closed. However, the team did not promote the game. Still they may not draw more fans than protest signs for opening night.
