Peca joins list of local boys who career fizzles out as a Leaf

Player signings at this point of the summer tend to be players at the end of their career matched with teams that either have huge gaps in their line up or some cap space left to spend. So the signing of Mike Peca by the Columbus Blue Jackets is a perfect fit.

Peca joins Shayne Corson, Eric Lindros, Jeff O'Neill, Jason Allison, Joe Nieuwendyk, and Drake Berehowsky as local boys who got to live out their childhood dream of putting on a Leaf uniform. In each case they left Toronto disappointing themselves, management and the fans.
